LISTENER’S CHOICE, EMAIL ONLY REQUEST SHOW, FRIDAY, MARCH 4TH

 

Friday, March 4th, WBJC will present our first email only request show. Send your requests to our brand new email address: ListenersChoice@www.testwjbcg1440.com. As usual, we will accept one request for one selection from each listener, and will broadcast your requests between 8PM and 1AM. Because the March 4th show will be pre-recorded, all requests must be received no later than Tuesday March 1st.

We will not be able to guarantee that every request will be played, but will announce the upcoming requests in the first hour of the show. If possible, any unplayed requests will be broadcast at a later date.

This is an experiment, and for me, having hosted the request show for twenty-eight years, an exciting one. On most Friday nights, we receive more than enough phone requests to fill up the show. For this reason, I have generally not allowed advance requests. But from now on, I will be accepting requests by email. Following the March 4th show, I will accept all requests for future shows, as long as they are sent before Friday night. The phone requests will still take priority, and once again, I cannot guarantee that all email requests will be played. That one hundred year old Feodor Chaliapin recording which you loved in your childhood may just not be available any more. And requests such as extended opera excerpts, or dissonant atonal music, will still be reserved for Friday only. But I promise I will make every effort to play all email requests that I do not play Friday night during another one of my weeknight shows. I’m thrilled to have WBJC’s listeners directly involved in my programming. Email requests are now a permanent part of WBJC’s Listener’s Choice.
