However, that famous comedy troupe’s influence can definitely be felt in A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, Dundalk Community Theatre’s current production. The show won the Tony award for Best Musical in 2014 and also nods to Gilbert and Sullivan, Charles Dickens, and perhaps even Downton Abbey. From February 23-March 4, Dundalk Community Theatre is presenting Terry Johnson’s stage adaptation of the iconic 1967 film “The Graduate.” Recently, I spoke with director Todd Starkey about the play’s exploration of family dynamics, intimate relationships, and the huge societal changes that took place during the 1960’s. From October 26-November 4, Dundalk Community Theatre is presenting Titanic: The Musical by Peter Stone and Maury Yeston. It seems this Tony-Award winning show owes more to the wonderful book A Night To Remember (written by Baltimore native Walter Lord) than it does to Hollywood’s version of the story. I recently spoke with director Tom Wyatt about DCT’s production and his research for same.
